Do not treat these rules as a comprehensive list of ''EVERYTHING'' that can get you in trouble; these rules outline the '''types''' of things that will get you punished, depending on the context and circumstances. Simply put, just because it isn't explicitly written here does not mean it isn't against the rules; we give more than enough examples on what types of things violate the rules, simply do not toe the line and you will most certainly be fine!
The Golden Rule: This server is MERP which stands for Medium Erotic Roleplay. The primary focus of this server is for a fun, sexual environment with some elements of danger. Do your best as Crew or Antagonist to contribute to fun, more than to ruin someone else's round.

|+SPLURT Station 13's In-Game Rules

!Rule
Rule #1: Do NOT transform or round-remove each other, or make the Station/Lavaland uninhabitable. This includes making death traps, planting Kudzu, and plasmaflooding. This is a non-negotiable rule. No one is valid unless they've TRULY earned it from Central Command. No executions unless approved by Central Command. No exceptions. Ahelp over this if you absolutely feel like you NEED to remove a player permanently, but otherwise, fucking DO NOT.
!Explanation

|-
1-a: Do NOT take items from or interact with another crewmember that is SSD unless it is within reason (If you are alone with no radio in the prison, and an officer has fallen asleep, Captain/Head of Staff has gone SSD for over 20 minutes.). Only after a player has been Disconnected for 20 minutes can they be placed into Cryo and their important items retrieved (I.E. Hardsuit, NAD, etc.)
|'''1. Malice'''

|Under no circumstances should you maliciously attempt to harm or hinder another player's experience on Splurtstation; accidents certainly happen, however, outright harassment, metagrudging, malicious dishonesty, out of character aggression, griefing, etcetera, will not be tolerated. Similarly, intentionally preventing other players from participating in the round, abusing exploits in a disruptive manner, creating infectious diseases/nanites, and forcing chemicals onto other players all violate this rule as well. Effectively, if you are doing something simply for the sake of putting down another player, you are likely violating this rule. The scenarios listed prior are simply examples of the kinds of activities that violate this rule; they are NOT a complete list of every conceivable infraction.
1-b: Starting needless, physical conflicts as a non-antagonist, and especially in the case of Full-On Shitcurity, is unacceptable. If you begin fighting with others or forcing chemicals on another player without a proper, in-character justification, it will be met with warnings and a possible ban. Syndicate Listening Post Operatives, Ashwalkers, and any Ghost Spawn Roles are NOT exempt from this rule.
|-
-----------------------------------------------------------------
|'''2. Impact'''

|Activities that considerably impact the server or its players in a negative way violate this rule; this includes, but is not limited to, end-of-round grief on the station or on the escape pod docking ship, end-of-round grief on the escape shuttle before the shuttle has docked with Central Command, breaking into high-security areas, excessive grey tiding, etcetera. Similarly, validhunting also violates this rule, as antagonists should always be the ones to initiate conflict; if they do not do so, then they are to be treated in a friendly manner until they otherwise prove to be hostile! Round disruptions also violate this rule if they are done without permission; examples of round disruptions include, but are not limited to, prison breakouts, riots, mutinies, etcetera. Additionally, you should not be attempting to circumvent the core functions of other departments for the sake of mechanical gain, unless said department's members are undoubtedly unavailable at the time; requirements for lesser departmental functions do not require you to seek assistance from other departments, such as science's need for chemistry in the completion of tier-five parts. Lastly, you cannot take anything from ghost role areas without permission from one of said ghost role characters, even if there are none present at the time.
Rule #2: Do not invade a locked dorm room or tamper with the door/walls through any means. If you absolutely need to break into a Dorm because a Head of Staff or Security are not doing their job on amber/red alert, ahelp it first. (Bombing dorms is an automatic ban, heehoo funni.)

|'''3. Roleplay'''

|Above all else, Splurt is an EROTIC ROLEPLAY server and, as such, you are expected to act in a way that not only makes sense for your character, but also in a way that does not disrupt the roleplay of others in the process. As such, excessive non-english speech, copy-pastas, characters based heavily on real people, and spamming all violate this rule; netspeak, emojis, etcetera, are not allowed to be spoken by your character, but may be used over PDAs and the like. Furthermore, you are expected to keep in-character matters in-character, and out-of-character matters out-of-character; you should not be talking about events within the round via OOC, nor should you be talking about out-of-character events in-character. Additionally, ahelps/admin private messages are COMPLETELY out of character, and should never be mentioned by your character as a result; you should you NOT write ahelps off as 'speaking with Central Command' either. Lastly, whilst in-character conflict is allowed, you should avoid outright killing other players, and any conflict should be escalated sequentially; you may not jump straight to lethal weapons, nor should that be your goal to begin with. Please keep in mind that these are all EXAMPLES of activities that violate this rule, and are thusly not a complete list.
Rule #3: If you come across someone ERPing somewhere that is NOT the dorms and semi-private, you may LOOC to join in. If they say no, DO NOT MAKE IT AWKWARD AND STAY AROUND. This rule goes off an honors system, as well. If someone requests you move from an openly public space to somewhere private, RESPECT them and do so. This is not a rule for you to be Anti-ERP, this is a rule for you to not engage with what you do not wish to see. #3-a: Public nudity is NOT a crime. Nudism is allowed.
|-
-----------------------------------------------------------------
|'''4. Consent'''

|Violating another character's preferences, or commiting erotic acts against a player that does not consent, utterly violates this rule. With that in mind, if your non-con preferences are set to 'Yes', you waive your right to fight back against your would-be non-consensual roleplay partners, no matter WHAT they do to your character; the ONLY exceptions are if you speak up in LOOC to voice your disapproval, or if what they are doing goes against another part of your OOC notes. Additionally, you are not to call for help over comms, as doing so consistently results in a witch hunt against your roleplay partner. With that in mind, the CONSEQUENCES of your ERP are only decided upon AFTER your scene has been completed, and you MUST have out-of-character consent from your roleplay partner if you wish to do anything thereafter that may get them into in-character trouble. As for involving yourself in others' ERP, assuming it is in a semi-private place, you are allowed to ask to join them via LOOC, however, if they decline, you MUST leave the area immediately thereafter, and you may NOT act on whatever you saw there. On the flipside, if you are ERPing in a department-specific, public area, and someone from said department asks you to leave, you are expected to do so; for example, if the bartender asks you to leave the bar mid-ERP, you must do so. Lastly, dorms are UTTERLY protected, and should NEVER be invaded in any way, shape, or form; this includes acting disruptively directly OUTSIDE of dorms as well.
Rule #4: In the Spirit of preserving Rule #1, all ERP revolving around Non-Con/Rape themes are to be kept at the OOC party's discretion, and are not meant to be taken as a canon interaction to the round itself. This means if you DO NOT consent to Non-Con/Rape OOC, report it to Security/Ahelp it immediately. If you DO consent to rape OOC, respectfully avoid an issue IC where the other party is put at risk for being executed. If you choose to roleplay Rape Scenarios, you accepted those risks, but both parties must still consent OOC otherwise. #4-a Forcing Rape on somebody through Emotes or Lewd Verbs without OOC consent is an automatic, bannable offense.

|'''5. Standards'''

|There are numerous, various standards that you are expected to follow, and failing to do so violates this rule. The most obvious examples of these standards are the security standards, non-crew standards, command standards, silicon standards, etcetera; continually failing to follow these standards when playing these roles will likely result in a job ban. This is especially true for members of command and security, as both of these role types are held to a higher standard; generally, members of command should not be violating space law, leaving the station Z-level, or otherwise disregarding their duties! Additionally, there are some universal standards that you are expected to follow, regardless of role. Firstly, you are not to respawn as the same character in the same round without admin permission. Secondly, you are not to take items from, or otherwise interact with, an SSD player at all; only after they have been SSD for twenty minutes or longer can you take them to cryo, and, even then, you may only take items off of them if you have a just reason to do so. Lastly, exceptional incompetence as a head of staff, or a complete lack of familiarity with space law as a member of security, will likely result in a job ban.
Rule #5: We do NOT allow Underage Content on this server. No characters under the age of 18 are allowed to be played, period. Don't even bring this subject up, it is not welcome in this server. If you are suspected of being underage, the S.P.L.U.R.T. staff may pull you aside for an age verification at any time. This verification can include a temporary ban from the server until proof of age is both given and verified. #5-a: We do NOT allow any Bestiality Content on this Server. DogBorgs, Xenomorphs, Funclaws and pAIs do not count. #5-b: We do NOT allow any Necrophilia Content on this Server. Don't fuck corpses. You should not have to be told.

|'''6. Respect'''

|As Splurt is an erotic roleplay server which caters to a wide variety of characters, kinks, etcetera, you are expected to treat others, and their preferences, respectfully, and to keep any distaste to yourself. As such, if you do not enjoy a particular kink, character, character type, species, etcetera, you do not have to interact with it/them, however, you are not to voice your distaste publicly, whether that be in OOC, or in LOOC when in a public area with unrelated bystanders nearby. Furthermore, if you have an issue with the actions of another player, or if you believe they are violating the rules, you are to ahelp the matter so it may be dealt with appropriately; insulting, mocking, harassing, provoking, etcetera, the player in question via OOC, LOOC, etcetera, is not allowed.
Rule #6: Until it has been coded out: If you spawn as an Antagonist as a Command Role (Head of Personnel, Captain, Head of Security, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Engineer.) or as an Antagonist in Security (Rookie, Security Officer, Warden, Detective), you MUST Ahelp out of it. If you spawn as a Prisoner, you must report directly to Security and give yourself over for arrest. If you want to try causing a riot or breaking out, you MUST ahelp first.

|'''7. Safety'''

|Anything that violates the law, Discord's terms of service/community guidelines, or Byond's terms of service, violates this rule as well! As such, ANY underage content, in any way, shape, or form, violates this rule; do not even speak about this topic, as it is not welcome here. Slurs of any variety are not tolerated here either, and severe action will be taken against any sort of discrimination. Furthermore, this is an eighteen-plus server and, as such, you will be swiftly removed if you are found to be underage. Additionally, staff may choose to apply an 'age verification' ban to anyone who we fear may be underage; this type of ban will typically be removed the second the banned individual can prove that they are of appropriate age. With this all in mind, there are some things which do NOT violate this rule, as they do not violate any of the previously mentioned laws, guidelines, etcetera. Most notable is bestiality; you are allowed to engage in bestiality ERP as long as the mob you wish to roleplay with is either CONTROLLED by a player, OR it does not fully resemble a real-life animal. Second to this is necrophilia; you are allowed to engage in necrophilic ERP as long as you have consent from the player you wish to roleplay with.
Rule #7: End of Round Grief (EORG) is allowed ONLY on the Escape Shuttle and CC area, ONLY after the round has ended. Bombing the Escape Shuttle before it has docked is an immediately bannable offense. EORG is NOT allowed on the station itself, nor on the Escape Pods and their respective docking areas.

Again, these rules are, effectively, guidelines which outline the sorts of things you '''shouldn't''' be doing; for you to receive a warning or punishment, your actions must still fit under one of these six categories, '''however''', the infraction itself does not have to be specifically outlined in these rules. Lastly, interpretation of the rules is up to staff, and staff alone; if you feel as if you have been treated or punished unfairly, please open a ticket in our [https://discord.gg/qv5rTHQW2a discord], and head staff will review the issue accordingly!

Rule #8: For anything not listed here, please defer to an ahelp before doing so. We are all generally friendly in ahelps and are wiling to work cooperatively with the players to create an enjoyable experience.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Rule #9: This server aims for a Semi-Literate environment, where Netspeak (Such as thx, lol, wtf, etc.) is not allowed. The obvious exception to this is in OOC/Dead Chat as well as in PDA messages. This server is primarily an English-speaking server, and your writing and speech must be legible enough to read. Speaking occasional phrases in different languages is acceptable.

Rule #10: Intellectual Dishonesty will not be tolerated. Don't be deceitful in tickets or in general.

Do not treat these rules as a comprehensive list of EVERYTHING that can get you in trouble; these rules outline the types of things that will get you punished, depending on the context and circumstances. Simply put, just because it isn't explicitly written here does not mean it isn't against the rules; we give more than enough examples on what types of things violate the rules, simply do not toe the line and you will most certainly be fine!

SPLURT Station 13's In-Game Rules
Rule Explanation
1. Malice Under no circumstances should you maliciously attempt to harm or hinder another player's experience on Splurtstation; accidents certainly happen, however, outright harassment, metagrudging, malicious dishonesty, out of character aggression, griefing, etcetera, will not be tolerated.
