"Inepta, officially known as 'Inepta Maximus,' is a terrestrial jungle planet. Originally classified as an uninhabitable world, it has since become a well-known point of research for many scientists.
The planet's surface is lush and displays many thick jungles, not so different from those of old Earth. These jungles house a plethora of curious insect species and dangerous predators. The most infamous of such beasts is the Wood Bug, informally known by local security teams as 'Spook Bugs' – an enormous exoskeleton-clad insectoid capable of disguising itself as a tree.
The world's landscape is dotted by large, overgrown flowers that act as a source of pollen for most of the world's surface. These plants despite their beauty are still dangerous as they tend to attract large quantities of Insectra, which, while not harmless on their own, can quickly diminish a team's limited amount of sugary supplies.
For over a hundred Terran years, numerous companies, unions, and wealthy individuals made multiple attempts to colonize the planet of Inepta. However, all efforts ended in utter failure. The planet's overdeveloped flora and fauna create a harsh environment for any potential colony. The only viable form of colonization for such a world would be limited to underground locations guarded by extensive security forces to keep the wildlife at bay.
Insectras
The Insectra are the only sapient species found in the world of Inepta. These curious insects, resembling a hybrid of honeybees and bumblebees, are notably smaller than humans, with the average drone standing at just 5'3 feet tall.
Insectras, as a species, lack ears or noses. In place of such organs, their antennae are much more sensitive and can feel pheromones and vibrations in the air. Although able to communicate through galactic-common, Insectras can more quickly relay large amounts of information through buzzing.
A resilient outer shell protects their organs. It is largely covered in a layer of fur to aid the Insectra in gathering pollen and regulating body temperature. Although flexible, it can easily deflect a blow from a local predator. This gives them enough time to fight back - Using their large stingers to pump their targe full of venom. The size of their stingers is comparable to a sword, with a serrated blade able to inject a potent agent that can paralyze and outright kill an individual.
